We are The Legacy Park Moms Group, an organization offering support for mothers who live in Legacy Park. This includes mothers who stay home with their children, those who work part-time, including those who have home-based businesses, and those who work full-time outside the home. It is a wonderful way for you to meet other Legacy Park moms and a fun way for your child to meet other Legacy Park children! We offer monthly meetings, casual get-togethers, outings for moms and children, family parties, playgroups, babysitting co-ops, activity groups, and service projects.

Garden Club - Sharon Hamilton, 678- 581-5987, LPGardenClub@comcast.net

Good Morning Legacy Park !!
Spring is just around the corner bringing with it sunshine, rain and beautiful flowers for us to enjoy. The Legacy Park Garden Club has triumphed through our first year getting organized and having fun. We are getting to know each other and learning about gardening, the environment and a lot of other stuff we didn't know before. This is a journey for us to be able to bring beauty and pleasure out of our own yards as well as our neighborhood. Your back yard should be another part of living space for you and your family to enjoy, it should be your sanctuary from a hectic and stressful world. Creating a garden takes some time, knowledge and a lot of patience.

The Legacy Park Garden Club recently went on an evening outing to a very enchantingly quaint nursery called "The Garden Keeper" located at 104 Lakewood Road in Marietta (678.594.0848). Upon arriving at "The Garden Keeper " we were greeted by two huge ferns on either side of the entrance garnished with tall pastel colored votive candles that welcomed us into this beautiful place. The shop is embellished with beautiful blooms, posh pots, garden statuary and uniquely adorable gifts. The building itself used to be an old country store that has been transformed into an almost magical place. Winding through the store off to the right is an outdoor two tiered garden with pathways, fountains, flowers, statues and plants lit with candles and little white lights and off to the left of the store is a lush, bright greenhouse.

We were greeted by the owners Shirley Cole, her son Shannon and manager Jeanie Coughlin and enjoyed raspberry tea and delicious cheesecake. We all took our seats while Master Gardener Shirley Cole began speaking on various gardening topics. Shirley Cole is the owner of Cole & Co. - Cole By Design Landscape, that she and her son have owned and operated for 12 years. Their landscape design business has a waiting list of about a year, so make sure you call soon. Shirley is being featured on an upcoming episode of the HGTV's show, "Ground Breakers", which makes this her third appearance on the HGTV network. If that's not enough, Shirley also writes a monthly column in "Our Town" magazine. She is a wonderful speaker and we were all so delighted and honored to be there, hanging on to her every word. Everyone had lot's of question's for this exceptionally knowledgeable lady, and she endearingly answered every one.

The Garden Keeper is a well kept secret and a treasure to be found. The Legacy Park Garden Club appreciates this wonderful treasure, so drop by "The Garden Keeper" for an afternoon treat, you will not be disappointed.

If you are interested in attending one of our monthly meeting's to see if the Legacy Park Gardening Club is right for you, just call or e-mail Sharon Hamilton at 678-581-5987 or LPGardenClub@comcast.net for more information.
